CHROME GuidedSMILE™ and the Guided Implant Surgery Procedure
We start your journey to a new smile by performing a CT scan and taking digital impressions of your teeth and gums. We also do a smile analysis and facial profiles that show us precisely where your new teeth will go during guided implant surgery. Using all this data, our partner lab develops your final implant prosthesis, a temporary (provisional) prosthesis, as well as a surgical guide, a template that we place over your gums for precise implant placement—an advantage offered by the CHROME GuidedSMILE™ system. This is customized to the specifications of your mouth, which we capture at the initial imaging stage. During surgery, we perform any tooth extractions and bone grafting before inserting the implant posts in your jaw through the surgical guide. We then immediately fit you with a fully functional provisional prosthesis, which you’ll wear comfortably while your implant post sites heal. (Most Long Island practices provide these the next day, leaving you toothless for 24 hours!) Later, you’ll return to our office for your permanent prosthesis—and begin to fully enjoy life with dental implants.
