Professional Maintenance
Also known as Supportive Periodontal Treatment, this is an extension of periodontal therapy that is performed at selected intervals (3, 4, or 6 months) to assist the periodontal patient in maintaining oral health. This usually consists of an examination, an evaluation of oral hygiene and nutrition, cleaning and polishing of the teeth above the gums.
