Dental implants are simply amazing. Made of three small but durable parts, they provide you with countless benefits. Eat foods you haven’t had in years due to poor dental health. Speak smoothly and naturally with no gaps in your smile. Experience confidence like you’ve never had before. You might think such things would only be possible after extensive surgery and multiple appointments. Same-day dental implants put all of those pleasures within reach, whether you need one implant or full arch dental implants. When you have those dental implants placed by our acclaimed team here at South Shore Long Island Periodontics & Implantology, you get the benefit of three board-certified periodontists with 80 combined years of experience that includes 10,000 placements since the earliest days of the technology!
Exceptional training and technology drive our success with your smile. After dental school, each of our doctors completed up to four years of specialized training in advanced solutions including dental implants. As periodontists, we have qualifications beyond many other dental practitioners. Using the CHROME GuidedSMILE™ system, we’re able to perform guided implant surgery for predictable, customized results in the form of a beautiful smile. What’s involved in placement? For individual implants, we insert one titanium post for each of your missing teeth into your jaw. For full arch solutions, we can use as few as four posts per arch. We then restore the implants with a sturdy temporary prosthetic that will enable you to eat and speak normally almost right away. You’ll receive your final prosthesis at a subsequent visit, usually several months later, after the insertion sites have fully healed.
Dental implants can change your life in many dramatic and beneficial ways, including some you may have never even thought about.
Replacing missing teeth sometimes requires additional procedures. If you’ve suffered severe bone loss in your jaw, we can rebuild your bone mass so that it will support dental implants through a procedure called bone grafting. We also perform tooth extractions on decayed teeth to clear space for your implants, generally during the same appointment as placement. For these and other procedures, we offer IV sedation to help you stay relaxed and pain-free. Your comfort during every visit to our Wantagh, NY office is always of utmost importance to us.
